Methodology & source

Values are IEA Global EV Outlook historical publicly available charging points (slow plus fast plus ultra-fast) divided by World Bank midyear population and expressed per million people. Private home and workplace chargers are not included. Country rows are joined by mapping IEA region labels to ISO 3166-1 alpha-3; World, EU, continent, and other IEA aggregates are excluded. Forecast years are not included. Map ranks are comparable-sample competition ranks among currently loaded countries. Missing countries remain without a value.

IEA Global EV Outlook historical publicly available EV charging points (slow + fast + ultra-fast) from the Global EV Data Explorer, divided by World Bank WDI SP.POP.TOTL midyear population and expressed per million people. Rows are country series joined by mapping IEA region labels to ISO 3166-1 alpha-3; World, EU, continent, and other IEA aggregates are excluded. Private home and workplace chargers are not included. Missing speed classes are treated as absent from the published total, not as zero. Territories outside UN-193 are not added to the country registry. Snapshot years 2015-2025. 43 UN members have at least one finite public-charger density in this extract.
